MAJOR, COBB COUNTY Police DEPARTMENT, ATTORNEY
Brian Batterton is an attorney in the State of Georgia and currently a Major with the Cobb County Police Department.
He has been in law enforcement since 1994 and obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1999 from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. He has served in Uniform Patrol, Investigations, Training (as an instructor and as the Director), Adjutant/Legal Officer to the Chief, and is currently a precinct commander.
In addition to his work at the police department, he also lectures for the Legal and Liability Risk Management Institute (LLRMI) on both criminal law and procedure topics, as well as, police civil liability.


Andy Hite
Captain Andy Hite is an assistant precinct commander at the Cobb County Police Department. He also serves as a Critical Incident Commander and the Vice President of the Police Athletic League.
Prior to precinct command Captain Hite served as Chief of Staff to the Chief of Police and as the Academy Director of the Police Academy. He was one of the original founders of the department’s violent crime unit known as “VIPER” and served as a member of the departments SWAT team. Captain Hite created the Cobb Police Athletic League by partnering youth football with track and field. In his spare time Captain Hite volunteers as a youth football coach in the Cobb Football League and has led his teams to twelve championships in fifteen years.
Captain Hite earned a Master of Public Administration from Columbus State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama.

This 2 hour virtual training will focus on street crime units properly showing their need, the structure, supervision and legal considerations as well as addressing pitfalls/red-flags.
This training will give departments something to review with and about their units .
